Print Plus Version 1.1 1990
------------------------------------------------------------------------
Print Plus is a printer utility which allows you to continue to use
your Amiga while printing IFF graphics. Print Plus will print in any
resolution: LO, MED, HI, INTERLACE, and HAM. Print Plus will also
print larger than screen size drawings.
Print Plus is easy to use. Just double click on the disk icon and
when the window opens double click on the PrintPlus icon.
Single Drive Users:
Print Plus can run with a single drive but be prepared to swap disks!
After booting with Workbench or a program disk:
Remove Workbench disk
Insert Print Plus disk
After inserting Print Plus and opening the program the Amiga
system will bring up the disk requester window and ask you to
insert either Workbench or Print Plus. Print Plus needs
different Workbench files to run.
The alternative is to make a copy of your Workbench disk and delete files
you don't need and drag the Print Plus icon to that disk. Deleting all the
files in the Utilities drawer EXCEPT Graphic Dump (Print Plus needs it)
will free up enough disk space. Deleting other files to create space to
save your IFF graphic files will eliminate disk swapping.
Users with 2 Drives:
Insert Workbench 1.3 in DF0: and Print Plus in your external
drive. If you do not want to do any swapping, copy or save your
graphic files onto a copy of Print Plus. Removing my Pics drawer and
Doc file will give you about 740K of disk space.
Users with 3 Drives:
Insert your data disk into your 3rd drive. No need to swap!
Hard Drive Users:
Drag the Print Plus icon into any drawer on your hard drive.
NO SWAPPING of DISKS!
The Title Screen contains a hidden menu bar at the top of the screen
which you can access by pressing the RIGHT MOUSE BUTTON. The menu bar
has two menu items: Print... sends graphic data to your printer.
(Right Amiga P)
Once your printer STARTS to print your graphic you can return
to Workbench (and use any other program) by pressing LEFT
AMIGA N.
After your printer STOPS you can return to Print Plus by
clicking the Workbench front to back gadject or use LEFT AMIGA M.
You can now clear the screen by using the menu Clear or by
pressing RIGHT AMIGA C.
Clear... removes the last drawing loaded to the
screen and refreshes the Title Screen so
you can load another graphic
(Right Amiga C)
The Title Screen also contains the following buttons: (Click Once with
LEFT Mouse Button.
About...Brings up information about Print Plus and displays the
current: CHIP memory
FREE memory
TIME
DATE
Preferences...Allows you to access the Amiga Preferences to change
your printer settings. If you haven't already, try
experimenting with the different size settings in
Graphics 2. You can get some fantastic results.
Print Plus supports all Preference settings.
Help... A brief description of Print Plus and a button labeled WB!
that allows you access to Workbench from Print Plus.
To return to Print Plus click the Workbench front to back
gadject or use LEFT AMIGA M.
Preview...Brings up a file requester from which you can access any Disk
or Directory. Click on the file you wish to Load and click on
OK to Load. To Print use menu or Right Amiga P.
Quit....Quits Print Plus and returns to Workbench.
**** I have included some LO res and HAM graphics on this disk for ****
**** you to print out. A few will be viewed on the screen sideways ****
**** as I wanted to print them with the vertical setting. ****

IMPORTANT PLEASE READ
"The author is not responsible for any loss of data or other damage
that may result from use of this program. The author has gone to great
lengths to make sure that this software is the best it can be but
is a bit paranoid and so the above statement applies."
PRINT PLUS IS NOT FREE! It is SHAREWARE!
If you send me $20.00 (or More!) you will be a registered user and
I will do the following:
1- HARD DRIVE USERS-- If you would check the amount of time it takes
for your printer to START printing AFTER your drawing is displayed
on the screen I will set your copy of Print Plus to automatically
return to Workbench as soon as your printer starts printing.
(I have my working copy return me to my programs in 2.5 seconds.)
2- For ALL registered users of Print Plus:
I will send you a FREE copy of a text (printer/editor/reader)
which will allow you to work on another document or use another
program while printing. This will also entitle you to future
revisions and/or upgrades of Print Plus. Also, once Workbench 2.0
becomes available I will make sure your copy will run under
Workbench 2.0.
I am also working on a CLImate type utility which will do the usual
copy, delete, move etc.; but will also be able to: show animations,
play sounds and much, much more.
I am currently working on a commercial program to teach children the
alphabet using graphics, animation, music and sound. There will be 5
different skill levels teaching letters, words and pronunciation
using the mouse and the keyboard. This program will be available to
registered users of Print Plus for half the retail price. Any money
received for Print Plus will go towards the cost of packaging and
documentation of this program.
Thank you for looking at Print Plus. Hopefully you will send me
money and if you do: ENJOY! printing graphics without tying up your
AMIGA!!!
I would like to THANK the following:
David and Andrew from Computer's ETC. (The Best Computer Dealer Anywhere!)
David for his humor and support and Andrew for his interest and a couple
of suggestions which improved PrintPlus dramatically. Also many, many, many
THANKS to my fellow SIG members for putting up with my oversized
enthusiasm every Tuesday and Wednesday for the past year and a half:
John Najjar, Larry McLeod, Dave King, Sara Roberts and Marjorie McPhilamy.
